Be sure to use the elements and principles to add interest to image.

Value, texture, contrasting colors, etc.

If it is hard to tell for CERTAIN what the subject is, you have achieved a good level of abstraction:)

Module Eight Assignments:

ALWAYS SAVE THE ORIGINAL IMAGE, IN IT'S ORIGINAL SIZE, SOMEWHERE...

1. Choose an image that would not lose it's interest and recognizable subject matter if you applied a filter.
2. Open the filter gallery as described in the "Example Page" direction link above.
3. Spend some time "playing" with the filters and evaluating what they would do to your image. While you are playing keep notes of the steps you are taking and filters you are using. YOU WILL NEED TO ENTER THIS INFORMATION IN YOUR DESCRIPTION FIELD IN FLICKR TO EARN POINTS FOR A "COMPLETE DESCRIPTION"!
4. When you arrive at an "REALISTIC" image you are happy with save it as "Objective Filtered Image" in your folder or on your flash drive. The viewer should be able to tell what the original image was of.
Along with the original image upload it to FlickR with the Label "Objective Filtered Image " and in the description field enter the steps and filers you used to create the image & complete your Critique. (20 points)

5. Select a new image; this time you are to create an " Abstract Filtered Image". Have fun with filters and don't worry about maintaining the ability to tell what the photo is of!
9. Save it as "Abstract Filtered Image" in your folder or on your flash drive.
Along with the original image upload it to FlickR with the Label "Abstract Filtered Image " and in the description field enter the steps and filers you used to create the image & complete your Critique. (20 points)

Tips: Change you file size to save space
Image>Image Size> Change Resolution to 72
File>Save As>Rename it for FlickR (filename72.jpg) is what I use. Be sure to set the Format to Jpeg!

NOTE* A total of 4 images should be in your Module 8 Flickr Set*
